Everything you need for a practical stay is on site and shared in the friendly way a good backpackers should be. Free Wi-Fi covers all areas of the building, free public parking is available on the property with street and accessible parking nearby, and heating runs throughout the house during the cooler months. Family rooms and non-smoking rooms are available, the whole property is smoke-free with a designated smoking area outside, and fire extinguishers and smoke alarms are installed throughout.
The communal spaces are the heart of the building: a shared lounge and TV area with a log burner, a pool table and board games, well-equipped shared kitchens where guests can cook and store their own food, and a garden with a picnic area for warmer evenings. Luggage storage is available for guests arriving early or leaving late, and a laundry service can be arranged for an additional charge.
Bathrooms are shared and come with toilets, showers with strong hot water and hairdryers. Staff speak English and are on hand during opening hours to help with local tips, bookings and directions around Oamaru.
