What are the check-in and check-out times?+
Check-in is from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and check-out is from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Guests cannot check in after 21:00, so please let the property know your expected arrival time in advance.
Is parking available?+
Yes. Free public parking is available on site and reservation is not possible. Street parking and accessible parking are also nearby.
Is Wi-Fi free?+
Yes. Wi-Fi is available in all areas of the property and is free of charge for all guests.
Is breakfast served?+
Breakfast is not served, but the well-equipped shared kitchens allow guests to prepare their own meals, and cafes and a supermarket are a short walk away.
Are the bathrooms private?+
All rooms use shared bathrooms with toilets, showers and hairdryers. There are no rooms with a private bathroom.
Are children welcome?+
Children of all ages are welcome and family rooms are available. Cribs and extra beds are not available at the property.
Are pets allowed?+
Pets are not allowed at Empire Hotel Backpackers.
Which payment methods are accepted?+
Debit cards and cash are accepted. Guests are required to show a photo ID and a credit card at check-in.
Is there a restaurant, pool or spa?+
There is no restaurant, swimming pool or spa on site, but restaurants and cafes are within a few steps of the entrance.
How far is the hotel from the centre of Oamaru?+
The hotel is in the centre of Oamaru on Thames Street, so the town centre, the Victorian precinct and the harbour are all a short walk away.
